Singapore is in the midst of a ramen craze. We’ve witnessed many new ramen restaurants opening in Singapore for the past two years. Adding to the list is Ramen Nagi – The popular and award-winning ramen chain from Tokyo which has also found huge success in countries such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, Philippines and Indonesia. Helmed by the inspiring and talented Chef Ikuta, Ramen Nagi offers bold ramen flavours with punchy broth and firm noodles. On top of that, guest can personalize the richness of the broth, amount of garlic, spice level, ramen texture and have their choice of either pork shoulder or pork belly chashu. So, all you ramen-fanatics out there! Mark your calendar because you wouldn’t want to miss this new ramen place that is set to make waves in Singapore for the next few months at Suntec City! Let the ramen feast begin!
More flavours to be launched gradually but these four on the menu were already good enough to satisfy my tummy. In frame, Original Butao King, Red King, Green King and Black King.
I was very honoured to see Chef Ikuta whipped out a bowl of ramen at their media launch event. If you are lucky enough, you can catch him because he will be preparing his specialty award-winning ramen for the initial fans at Ramen Nagi Singapore.
Original BUTAO King // $13.90
This is the safest option if you aren’t into bold and heavy flavoured ramens. The broth was robust, flavourful and has a sweet ending. Ramen was firm (texture was just right). Adding a little chilli into the broth to spice things up a little. This is highly recommended!
Red King // $15.90
People who loves a mix/blend of garlic and chilli will fall in love with this Red King instantly. The spice really hits your nose and palette initially before it settles down with a soothing sweet flavour. It was quite spicy in the beginning but I got used to it after a while.
Green King // $15.90
This is not-the-usual kind of flavoured ramen you can find elsewhere in Singapore and not many people can get used to the flavour since it has an acquired taste. Some of you might love the refreshing combination of basil and olive oil but some of you might not (since we are not familiar with it). I would suggest you gave this a try!
Black King // $15.90
This is the heaviest flavoured ramen out of the four and also one of my favourite. I thought it was going to be jelat after a while but I was wrong. Broth was really flavourful and has a strong squid flavour.
