I have been patronising Saveur since I was in Junior College. They were quite the ‘hot’ thing back then because of its delicious and affordable French cuisine. Their signature Saveur Pasta was so well-received that you can almost see a picture of it on every social media platform. After so many years, I’m back at Saveur and they are as good as ever. Prices are still very reasonable as well. If you haven’t had the chance to try Saveur yet, you need to check this place out! Enjoy a good spread of mouth-watering French dishes without having to burn your pockets!

You know the place is good when they have a full crowd and people queuing. Saveur was fully-packed on a Tuesday night and the crowd just keeps coming and coming. I tried their 3 course dinner set menu ($29.90) and it was impressive. My friend who came together with me was so impressed that he’s going to bring her girlfriend over here as well.

Paradise // $7.90
With no artificial colourings added, this pretty drink was actually quite refreshing. Yes, it’s sweet but not jelat. I quite liked it!

Serai Collins // $6
This is what you need on a hot day! Lemongrass flavour was really strong and it goes very well with the mint leaves. Very refreshing. A good perk me up especially after a long day of work!

Salmon Confit (Add $2)
I’m more than glad to top up that $2 just to enjoy this well-cooked salmon confit. The meat was so melty that it literally melts in the mouth. I also love how crispy the skin was. The small slices of apple at the bottom was a great add to the overall crunchiness and sourness of the dish. This was delicious!

Truffle Foie Gras (Add $4)
Truffle smell was definitely very strong. Foie Gras was well-cooked (no game smell) and flavourful but I thought that it was a tad too oily for me. Other than that, this was pretty tasty.

Chilli Crab Squid Ink Pasta (Add $2)
The Chilli Crab Squid Ink Pasta was aromatic and flavourful. It wasn’t very spicy and the broth was really addictive. I was drinking the sauce non-stop. Pasta had a great texture as well. Topped with sweet tomatoes and a running egg, this is totally worth ordering!

Saveur Duck Confit
Oh my! I was really very impressed with the mains! This duck confit was well-marinated, well-cooked and very flavourful. It was so tender and juicy that I thought I was eating chicken. Gravy was on point!

Pistachio Panna Cotta
Pistachio flavour was really strong, with generous servings of pistachio nuts on top of the panna cotta. Panna Cotta was light and soft.

Salted Caramel Lava Cake (Add $5)
Didn’t quite like the lava cake because the texture was a little too rubbery for me! Sauce was good though, not overly sweet!
