Beast & Butterflies has raised the bar once again by welcoming a revamped menu in 2018. Created by the inspiring and talented Chef Bryce, this new menu revolves around two concept: Beast (meaty and huge portion for the guys) and Butterflies (healthy and smaller portion for the ladies). Popular dishes such as Lobster Porridge, Crispy Pork Knuckle and Hungarian Pork will still stay in the new menu. This futuristic restaurant never fails to impress in all sorts of occasion and is definitely one place that I’ll always recommend to my loved ones. Have a great start to 2018 by pampering yourself and your loved ones with a posh meal at Beast & Butterflies! This new menu is a MUST-TRY!
Here’s a mix of their new and popular dishes which I’ll be sharing in this post! Every dish has its own unique selling point and are all worth ordering! They are nicely presented with great flavours and texture!
Scallion Soy Barramundi
One look and I know the barramundi was cooked to perfection. It was not fishy and the meat was so melty. The sauce was flavourful, and it heightens the sweetness of the fish. Asparagus was well-cooked with a not too soft or tough texture.
Szechuan Lamb Steak
Since I don’t take lamb, I have to rely on the experiences of my friends. They all unanimously agreed that the lamb had no game smell and it was flavourful, tender and juicy. What I tried was the addictive Coconut and Sweet Potato Mash! Let me know if its nice!
Chocolate-lovers will fall in love with this immediately. The chocolate sauce was rich and creamy, melts the chocolate dome and you can find bits of brownie and ice cream within it. What a surprise isn’t it? Super Shiok!
Nian Gao Cigars
What a creative way of presenting the traditional Nian Gao! The Nian Gao was wrapped with spring roll skin and fried to achieve a very crispy texture. It wasn’t oily as well. The golden custard and salted egg yolk dip complements the nian gao cigar very well. Super addictive!
Scallop Carpaccio // $26
This dish might not appeal to you visually but I can assure you that this is damn addictive! The Hokkaido scallop was well-marinated and very fragrant. I love how the fried shallots add an extra crunch to the overall dish!
Crispy Pork Knuckle // $25 (Half) & $35 (Full)
One dish that I’ll always order when I’m at B&B! Probably the best Pork Knuckle in Singapore (better than some German restaurant). Pork knuckle was super flavourful and crispy. The Asian Sauerkraut sauce really goes very well with the pork knuckle, making it irresistible! One bite and trust me, you can’t stop!
Hungarian Pork // $38
Another of my favourite dish. Mangalica pork was well-marinated, tender and juicy. So good that I don’t wanna share with anybody!
Lobster Porridge // $36
If you never order this when you are at B&B, then you shouldn’t consider yourself visiting this place before. This comforting bowl of lobster porridge is a must-try when you’re here! Broth was very flavourful, lobster was fresh and sweet, and generous serving of abalone! Porridge was cooked to the perfect texture as well.
Yam Crème Brulee // $12
My favourite yam paired with crème brulee = GREAT COMBO! Hidden with the layer of crisp on top lies a flavourful and well-blended yam. Complemented with a rich coconut ice cream, I’m totally sold!
