Fans of Sama Curry & Cafe can now enjoy its signature and highly raved Hokkaido soup curries at their second outlet – Plaza Singapura. Brought in all the way from Sapporo, its first outlet at Downtown Gallery has seen great success and response from Singaporeans (insanely long queues). With varying spicy levels and different soup curries to choose from, you’ll definitely be spoilt with choices. If you still haven’t try the flavoursome and nourishing soup curries from Sama Curry & Cafe, you are simply out of trend! Join the hype now because they are currently having a $15.90 (usual $21.90) lunch promo where you get to choose 1 Main Curry (Marathon Chicken, Vegetarian Bear or Special Soup Curry Udon), 1 Non-alcoholic Beverage and 1 Side Dish (Shrimp Gyoza or Hokkaido Imomochi Cheese). Super value-for-money, isn’t it? During the weekends, kids also eat for FREE! How awesome is that?

You can choose your preferred soup base as well as the level of spiciness. If you are adventurous like me, go straight for level 15. It gets hotter and hotter, but freaking shiok with every sip. If you can’t, just go for level 3-4 (tolerable).

Hokkaido Crab Cream Croquette
Always a huge fan of Japanese’s croquette. Sama Curry & Cafe’s rendition was not too bad. Croquette was fried to perfection, with good batter and not too oily. The fillings were not too creamy (jelat). I can eat another two all by myself!

Oh yes, remember to get the rice with minced meat and melted cheese to go with your soup curries. Place a spoonful of the rice into your curries for maximum pleasure. Trust me, once you do that, you will be addicted! Take it away from me please before I order another plate!

Marathon Chicken // $14.90
What??? That’s a huge chicken leg in the bowl. Very generous of them to offer such a massive and tender chicken leg to the customer. Soup curry was flavourful, with a slight kick (spice) at the end. Vegetables were a great add to the dish (if you think it is too heavy). Overall, I was really very satisfied with the flavour and portion of the dish. Highly recommended!

Ocean Trophy // $18.90
Seafood-lovers should totally order this! Again, generous servings of seafood and broth was really rich & flavourful. Goes really well with rice! Calories so worth gaining! and I don’t think I’ll be sharing this with anyone!
