For the third series of my Ramadhan Special, I’ll be sharing the very popular Halal Italian restaurant – Kucina within One KM mall. In a short span of 2 years, this down-to-earth restaurant has already been established as one of the TOP Halal restaurants in Singapore. Also known for being the first-ever Halal restaurant in Singapore to serve authentic Italian food, Kucina has over the years built a strong pool of supporters and regulars. P/s: It’s better and safer for you to call them to make a reservation because they are always fully packed for dinner service!

In conjunction with Ramadhan as well as their second anniversary, Kucina will be revealing a brand new menu and I’ll be sharing 3 of their newest creations in this article! So, if you’ve yet to visit them, it’s time to treat your loved ones to a wholesome and hearty Italian feast at Kucina this Ramadhan! Trust me, no regrets!

The Owner/Executive Chef – Gero puts a strong emphasis on the quality and authenticity of its food. As much as possible, he wants his guests to feel like they’re dining in Italy. On top of that, Kucina holds cooking classes as well – taught by the friendly and talented Gero:) You can check their Instagram page to see some of the videos (such as pasta-making)!

Nduja // $24.90
Penne with Squid & Prawns and Tossed in Spicy Nduja Beef Paste
For pasta-lovers, you can go for their hearty Penne Pasta that comes with a kick. Could already smell the aroma when the chefs were cooking in the kitchen! Good servings with generous portions of squid and prawns. *Warning: Heard that this is really spicy but definitely worth a try! Let me know if this is too spicy for you;)

Pizza Salmone // $27.90
White Pizza Base with Fresh Spinach Topped with Smoked Salmon & Capers
This is a perfect family dish! Salmon was really fresh and the pizza crust was not too thick & crispy (you know it’s crispy when you try to take a slice). Good proportionate of ingredients atop of the pizza as well. Highly-recommended!

Cannoli // $8
Famous Dessert from Sicily, Handmade shells & filled with Rich Ricotta-Mascarpone and Chocolate Pistachio Cream
This dessert may be weird-looking, but I can assure you the taste is extraordinary. The shells were crunchy and it paired really well with the rich mousse-like mix of ricotta and mascarpone. It was not overly sweet or too overwhelming (not jelat at all). The pistachio crumbs added an extra crunch and fragrant to the overall dessert. A must-try!
