Afternoons will never be the same again, especially so with Tiong Bahru Bakery’s NEW Afternoon Three Sum ($25) that will be running from 3pm-5pm daily. This long-standing cafe (already a household name) has all along been very popular for its mouth-watering pastries and this all-new three-tiered High Tea Set has once again proved that they are a force to be reckoned with. Expect a East-West surprise where you’ll be enjoying 1) Top Tier – Tiong Bahru Bakery Favourites, 2) Middle Tier – French Goodies & 3) Final Tier – Singaporean Flavours. It’s really hard to decide which tier impresses me the most (I couldn’t pick a favourite) because they all left a very lasting impression on me. Oh yes, if you’re meeting a client, do remember to bring them to Tiong Bahru Bakery for the new Afternoon Three Sum and trust me, you’ll definitely can seal the deal! If not, it’s also the perfect place for a quick catch up with your friends/loved ones.

P/s: I think it will be great if you can call them to reserve the High Tea Set since they are always so crowded!

As you can see, the food is served in Dim Sum cages which I thought was totally brilliant. It gives an element of surprise to diners when they unveil each tier. For me, I was too anxious to see all of them (thus explaining the #flatlay). Portion was just right and I still can’t believe it’s only $25! So damn value-for-money lah!

Remember to start with the savoury (top tier) first! Expect to see Pulled Pork Finger Sandwich, Baked Ham & Cheese Sandwich and Smoked Salmon in-between a Squid Ink Bun. My favourite was the Pulled Pork Sandwich – well-shredded, flavourful and juicy! One bite, and you’re hooked!

Here comes the sweets! In the middle tier, you can find Valrhona Dark Chocolate Tart, Zesty Lemon Curd and Financier with Raspberry and Satiny Cream. I couldn’t decide on a favourite here because I adored the Valrhona Dark Chocolate Tart as well as the Lemon Curd. The chocolate tart was rich and addictive. It was so good I wanted to steal the one from my friend. Chocolate-lovers will definitely fall in love with it! For the Lemon Curd, it wasn’t too sour but refreshing. One bite and trust me, you finished the entire piece in no time!

And here comes the exciting finale – locally inspired sweets where you can find Pandan Tartlette, Coconut Cheesecake and Blue Pea & Yuzu serine Panna Cotta. I shall not spoil your surprise (by revealing the taste for the 3 of them) but my favourite was the Pandan Tartlette. You should try it to know it!

What’s high tea without coffee or tea? Remember to get the aromatic and not overly sweet Tiong Bahru Bakery’s Teh Tarik! It’s a huge cup btw!

Just a recap: Afternoon Three Sum runs from 3pm-5pm daily and it is priced at $25 NETT (except for the outlet at Raffles City which is priced at $23.40++)!
