It is a no secret that the Flame Cafe is home to the original 4-Tier Cheesy BBQ Pagoda Steamboat which has been very popular among all walks of life. But not many people actually know that other than their popular Pagoda Steamboat, they also offer a decent and affordable Western-Asian fusion menu. They recently revamped their menu, adding an Italian twist to the classic Asian dishes at a super reasonable price. I took a look at the menu and most of them were priced at less than S$15. And if you think they would compromise on the quality and quantity of their dishes, thankfully they did not. Expect to enjoy interesting fusion dishes such as Rendang Beef Burger, Seafood Salted Egg Pasta, Lemak Ayam Chilli Padi Pasta and many more. So, the next time you’re thinking of heading down to the Flame Cafe for their steamboat, you might want to give their Western-Asian menu a try as well.

Honestly, I thought the food was really very value-for-money! I mean the portion was huge and it tasted not too bad. Oh yes, the new menu is created by their new Malaysian Chef who has a very strong Italian culinary background and experience. If you’re working around Tai Seng, you can get a quick and affordable lunch fix over here!
Roy Rogers // $7.90
Fizzy Coke, Grenadine & Cherry
A good perk you up during the lunch hour and especially shiok during a hot sunny afternoon. If you’re not into very sweet drink, please do not order this.
Honey Lemongrass Cooler
Fresh Lemongrass Juice with Honey
Don’t ask me why the colour is like that because I have no idea as well. I would prefer having this than the one above because it was not that sweet but super refreshing. Psst! You need to mix that honey at the bottom really well!
Battered Fried Calamari
Served with Thai Chilli Sauce & Tartare
This was quite decent. Calamari was well-battered and well-fried. They were crispy and not too oily. Dip them into the condiments for better pleasure!
Lemak Ayam Chilli Padi Pasta // $11.90
Traditional Spicy Malay Dish, Chicken Thigh Cooked in Spicy Coconut Gravy tweaked with a touch of Italian
Okay, this dish might not be that visually-appealing (I had a hard time trying to snap a better photo of it) but it was delicious. The creamy coconut gravy was fragrant, not too jelat and with a hint of spice. Pasta had a great texture and the chicken was well-cooked. Mix them all up and slurp them away!
Rendang Beef Burger // $12.90
Beef Pattie with Home-made Rendang Sauce
Patty was decent but I thought the sauce did it for me. It was savoury and addictive. Fries were well-seasoned but I thought it could have been crispier. Bun was lightly-buttered and soft.
I mean who can resist a rich and thick Oreo Cheesecake? This was pretty yummy and it was not too sweet.
Green Tea Mousse Cake // $8.90
I would have loved this even more if the green tea flavour was richer and more distinct.
