Most people would associate ‘Afternoon High Tea’ as part of a lifestyle for the rich upper class people, especially the Tai Tai. This statement might be true in the past but it is definitely not in the recent years. Afternoon High Teas are increasingly getting very popular among Singaporeans, particularly the millennials. And with so many places offering affordable/value-for-money High Tea menu, we are all spoilt for choice. That being said, where can you find a good place for afternoon high tea?
If you do a search on the Internet, L’Espresso at Goodwood Park Hotel pops out in many articles and all of them gave raving reviews. Last Saturday, I had their newest ‘Victorian English Afternoon Tea’ with my cousin and I truly understand why they are so well-received by the public. Besides the cafe being beautifully-furnished (perfectly suits the afternoon high tea vibes), the buffet selections were wide and the service was top-notch. On top of that, the price is super reasonable.
So, if you’re planning to have a nice and relaxing high tea with your friends, do check out the new Victorian English Afternoon Tea at L’Espresso which will be available from now till 22 July 2018. For the guys out there, you can also surprise your girlfriend/date with a meal here ?
As you can see from the picture, we got really greedy because everything looked so good. #sorrybutnotsorry
Besides their signature favourites of freshly baked traditional English scones, exquisite pastries and dainty sandwiches, they have also added a whole range of newly created English-inspired teatime treats such as Coronation Chicken with Mango Chutney and Almonds Open-Faced Sandwich; Toad in the Hole, Treacle Tart and many more. Trust me, you will either scream or eyes popped when you see the spread. Won’t be sharing everything in the article because I want you to have that element of surprise yourself!
P/s: I really like their plates btw! Haha!
Huge selection of sweets and this plate of cakes were ? Cakes were really soft and moist. Special mention to the lovely Matcha and Hazelnut Cake. So good I went for another serving!
The Ham & English Cheddar Cheese croissant were darn good lah! Again, I went straight for another serving because it was that good.
They even have Fish & Chips with Malt Vinegar, Leek Quiche and Popcorn Chicken. You’ll probably expect the savouries to not be as good as the sweets but they proved otherwise. I’m impressed!
Some fruits to balance your meal. They were sweet!
The chocolate balls were really addictive! You’ll just popped it into your mouth again and again without knowing!
