Guzman Y Gomez is recognised as one of the best Mexican restaurants in Singapore, and I can understand their popularity after my recent visit to the restaurant during National Day. Even during off-peak hours, the restaurant was packed. Also, it was a public holiday (Tanjong Pagar Centre is very quiet during the weekends/public holiday) and if people are willing to travel to the CBD area for their Mexican food, it must be good.

You can find a wide selection of popular and authentic Mexican classics, from Burritos, Tacos to Nachos with Guacamole dip at a very reasonable price.  The staffs were also very friendly and helpful, and they gladly assisted us with the ordering (cos we didn’t know what to order, and seek the staffs for recommendations). Food came very quickly, and we were all very satisfied with them. Portion was huge as well!

And tad-dah, our Mexican feast to celebrate the nation’s birthday. Oh yes, the portions were so filling I had to do a take-away (go home and enjoy, haha). Also, the churros with chocolate dip at the back was so damn good lah!

Nachos with Shredded Pulled Pork
Always can’t resist a good guacamole dip paired with crispy nachos! They were very generous with the portion of guacamole and the shredded pulled pork was flavourful and juicy. Great combination! So addictive it gets you hooked! Anyway, I dapao some home to watch the National Day Parade on TV.

Burrito Bowl
You can create your very own Burrito Bowl and I love mine with rice, salsa, guacamole, chips, black beans and CHEESE! Once you start, you literally can’t stop!

Barramundi Burrito
OMG! This is damn filling lah! The ingredients complemented one another really well, and the wrap was not too tough. Barramundi was well-cooked to achieve a nice texture. Loving the brown rice! Healthy too:)

Churros with Chocolate Dip
Ending our hearty Mexican feast with a very nice and crispy Churros with Chocolate Dip. The churros were fried to perfection and dip it in the chocolate sauce for maximum pleasure! Another dish that’s worth doing a takeaway too!
