From hawker delights to the various eateries along the street, those of you working near Amoy are blessed to have access to plenty good eats! Tucked in a unit along the stretch of shophouses, you wouldn’t expect dumplings at all. As its namesake suggest, Dumpling Darlings (the same team behind Lola’s Cafe & On The Table) specialises in handmade and uniquely flavoured dumplings, drawing inspiration from other cultures – from pierogis of Europe to chilli oil dumplings from China One of my favourites – Veggie Mandu’s flavours brings me back to my semester aboard in Korea. (Can’t wait for my trip next year) Other fun flavours include as Spicy Sichuan, Momo Curry, Fried Pierogi and Smoked Duck Dumplings for $7-8 in a Gang of 5. If you’re with company, I highly recommend getting the Dumpling Platter to share! ??

Psst! If you’re popping by Dumpling Darlings for lunch, I’ll highly recommend the set lunch. For $16, have a choice of noodles, choice of dumplings and a cold drink. Super value-for-money, isn’t it?

Did you see the beansprouts with carrots and seaweeds? Well this may not be a dish on the menu, the sweet folks at DD will throw in a side dish (similar to Korean’s banchan) with any orders ?? A great compliment with the dumplings and noodles ?

Eggs, Salt & Flour – just 3 simple ingredients that goes into these noodles with a great bite! What’s more, they’re priced at an affordable 5 BUCKS! I’ve tried 2 out of 3 flavours, Miso Mushroom and Sichuan Pork Noodles. Personally, I’ll go for the Sichuan Pork Noodles ? cos the flavour is a tad stronger with a subtle kick at the end. If you’re going with the Miso Mushroom, I’ll suggest having your noodles with the mushrooms as having the latter on its own would be a tad too salty. Definitely generous portions too!

Dumplings Platter (Gang of 5)
Like what I said earlier, you NEED to get this platter if you’re with a group of friends! I mean you can try all at one shot! If I had to choose two out of the five, I would probably go for Smoked Duck & Momo Curry!

The salted plum wolfberry pu-er is great to cool off in Singapore’s scorching weather, or if alcohol’s your thing, Young Master’s Another One is a juicy and refreshing option; you’ll be calling for seconds.

So, what are you waiting for? If your office is around Amoy street, time to jio your colleagues to Dumpling Darlings for lunch! Word of advice: Go early because it is usually very crowded from 12noon to 2pm!
