Eating in town can be very taxing to the wallet but with the new Sora Boru, you no longer have to worry about that. Nestled on the basement of [email protected], Sora Boru is a Japanese fast-casual restaurant that offers an extensive selection of mouth-watering one-bowl meals such as DonBoru (rice bowls), CurryBoru (curry rice bowls), ChirashiBoru (sashimi bowls) and Noodles at a very reasonable price. *Remember to check out their signature Volcano Beef Don and Snow Beef Don! On top of that, diners can choose between two sizes – Mini & Regular; perfect for fickle-minded people or people who are watching their diet.

Akin to dining at a fast-food restaurant, office people can get a quick yet satisfying lunch fix at Sora Boru via their self-order kiosks, with waiting time less than 10 minutes. It’s also a great alternative for students (spotted many when I was there) who usually dine in fast-food chains. So, mark this place down and share it with your loved ones!

Be prepared to be spoilt for choice – Honestly I can’t find a section that I don’t like in their menu! So, I would suggest you head down to Sora Boru with more friends cos you guys can order more to try!

Crispy Salmon Skin // $8.50
This is one freaking addictive side you must order at Sora Bora! Fried to perfection, this salmon skin was crispy and not too fishy. Dip it into the Egg Mayo sauce for maximum pleasure!

Bara Chirashi Ebimayo Aburi Don // Mini – $9.50 & Regular – $16.90
When you’re feeling down, this bowl of colourful and flavoursome Bara Chirashi Ebimayo Aburi Don is the food you need to cheer you up! Comes with cubes of assorted half-grilled fish, tamagoyaki and cucumber blanketed in blow-torched shrimp roe mayonnaise, no wonder its dubbed as the crowd favourite!

For those who are more adventurous and creative, you can also DIY your own ChirashiBoru! Again, it comes in 3 sizes – Mini: $6.50, Regular: $11.90 & Large: $16.90! It’s a six-step customisation process where you can choose your preferred size, base, raw fish, add-ons, sauce and garnishes. Remember to get their HARAJUKU EGG and super shiok Shoyu sauce!

There also serve Soba (chilled or in a bowl of hot soup) and we got two mini ones! Also got ourselves two sides – Ebi Vegetable Tempura (Mini – $7.50 & Regular – $12.90) and Chicken Karaage (Mini – $6.50 & Regular – $10.90)!

Breaded Ebi Curry Rice // Mini – $6.50 & Regular – $10.90
What? They even have CURRY RICE?!! Yeah they do and they are pretty awesome! You can choose the level of spiciness you want for your Japanese curry and I really liked how it is not overly jelat or sweet. Once you start, you literally can’t stop!

Snow Beef Don // Mini – $7.50 & Regular – $11.90
Here comes one of the highlight at Sora Boru! Comes with a based of steamed rice and a choice of either stewed cabbage or seasoned beansprouts, it is then piled high with succulent flame-grilled beef slices. Last, it is dressed with grated parmesan and a special sweet-savoury sauce made from whipping cream. BEEF was super tender!!!! And please lah, just go for the regular size! Calories worth gaining!

Volcano Beef Don // Mini – $7.50 & Regular – $11.90
If you can take spicy, you should (without a shadow of a doubt) go for this Volcano Beef Don. It wasn’t too spicy for me (my tolerance for spice is low)!
