How did I not know about Hopscotch before because the food and drinks were mind-blowing! Hidden within Gilman Barracks, Hopscotch is a cosy and industrial-themed bistro bar that serves Singapore-style cocktails alongside a range of mouth-watering grilled food at a reasonable price. Only a year into the F&B scene, the brand has already garnered a huge pool of regulars and you can tell when walk-ins can’t even get a seat during the weekend.

Some of the MUST-TRY includes – 1) Cocktails: Little Nonya, White Sands and Sing to the Dawn as well as 2) Food: Chilli Lobster Tagliatelle (my FAV), Baby Back Ribs and of course, their skewers (you’ll be spoilt for choice). So, planning to head down to Hopscotch to chill with your friends next week? Remember to make a reservation via www.quandoo.sg to avoid disappointment!

Psst! Use promo code ‘DINEOUT200′ to enjoy double loyalty points when you make a Quandoo reservation – Earn 200 loyalty points, instead of the usual 100. A total of 1000 points can be redeemed for a $15 cashback directly into your bank account, with a completed reservation.

As you can see, the portion at Hopscotch is relatively huge and it makes more sense for you to bring more friends to share the love. Have a drink or two and throw all your stress aside! I’m planning to celebrate my friend’s birthday over here!

Sing to the Dawn // $23
A refreshing twist to the usual Old Fashioned with local elements in it. How to go about tackling this? Eat the Yuan Yang & Toasted Barley Bitters on the spoon first, down that Gula Melaka on the side and drink the cocktail. They also have toasted You Tiao on the side!

Ice On Wheels // $23
This cocktail belongs to the sweeter spectrum and for people who loves Horlick! And did you see that old school ice cream with bread? This cocktail is inspired from the uncle/auntie selling the $1 ice cream (the price has gone up)!

Before we dig straight into our food, here’s their signature Lobster Bisque ($7) and Soup of the Day – Onion Soup ($5) to start off first. It was hard to pick a favourite because both were comforting and flavourful!

House Special Wings // $9.90
Somehow the wings over here reminded me of Har Jeong Kar. Flavour wasn’t too overwhelming and neither was the wings too oily. Best to pair them with an iced cold beer/cocktail!

And of course, you should, A MUST actually, order their grilled food! With an extensive selection to choose from, you’ll be spoilt for choice. That’s why I said it’s better to jio more friends down! Oh yes, the skewers were grilled to perfection – love the smokiness and sauce!

Baby Back Ribs // $24
As you can see, the pork ribs has a nice glaze from its colour. They were so tender – falls off the bones so easily and pour some in-house sauce over it to make it even more flavoursome! Love the salsa on the side too!

Chilli Lobster Tagliatelle // $28
Saving the BEST for the last! This Chilli Lobster Tagliatelle was so good I almost finished the entire portion myself. The texture of the pasta was really good – not too tough and it was soaked with flavour. I’m heading back for this dish again! Highly recommended!
