You’ll never get tired of eating comfort food, and Ho Fook Hei Soy Sauce Chicken is definitely one of them. Nestled within Great World City, Ho Fook Hei Soy Sauce Chicken is the latest venture by Joyden that prides itself in serving authentic & homestyle Cantonese cuisine at a wallet-friendly price. Think mouth-watering Cantonese specialties with recipes passed down from generations such as the signature Specialty Rose Wine Soy Sauce Chicken, Honey Glazed Black Barbecue Pork Belly, Fisherman Boat Congee and many more! I guess it’s a valid reason to visit Great World City more often now!

All these delicious Cantonese dishes from Ho Fook Hei Soy Sauce Chicken are all reasonably-priced! No wonder it was so packed (popular among all ages) even on a weekday evening.

Hei Chor
This deep fried prawn rolls were crispy, flavoursome and not too oily! They were really generous with the fillings (can see chunks of prawn meat inside the Hei Chor). Dip it with the sweet sauce for maximum pleasure! Very addictive!

Honey Glazed Black Barbecue Pork Belly
The Char Siew at Ho Fook Hei is not too bad – nice charred flavour and the sauce is not overly sweet. If you love a fatty Char Siew, you will definitely love this!

Shrimp Dumpling
As you can see from the picture, the dumpling is HUGE! Again, they were really generous with the ingredients – prawn was plump and juicy! Would recommend you getting the soup version cos it was really comforting!

Fisherman Boat Congee
Another comfort food you MUST order at Ho Fook Hei Soy Sauce Chicken! The congee was light yet flavoursome and again, so generous with the fish inside the congee. They also offer Lean Pork and Century Egg Congee, Pork Ball Congee and many more! I can finish one congee on my own!

Sea Bass with Signature Nonya Assam Sauce
This Sea Bass with signature Nonya Assam sauce was so delicious, it was wiped out in no time. Fish was really fresh and sweet, and it paired so well with the very appetising sweet-sour-spicy Nonya Assam sauce. Please order a bowl of rice cos the sauce is LEGIT!

Cod with Old Ginger Sauce
This was amazing too! Cod was not overcooked – literally melts in the mouth. This will pair really well with congee!

Specialty Rose Wine Soy Sauce Chicken
Here comes the highlight of the restaurant – their Specialty Rose Wine Soy Sauce Chicken. Braised with a dozen of Chinese herbs and spices the likes of cinnamon and star anise, the chicken was plump, tender and juicy! The sauce has a nice, distinct floral fragrance. I think I can finish 2 bowls of rice with the sauce along!

Red Bean Soup with Aged Mandarin Peel
Ending the hearty meal with a old school and comforting Chinese dessert – Red Bean Soup with Aged Mandarin Peel. Love the subtle mandarin flavour aftertaste!
