Two years since I’m back at The Quarters – an underrated cafe hidden within Icon Village. Stepping into the cafe sparked a sense of nostalgia – that familiar drawings on the wall, that familiar scent, my FAV dishes and I was so happy to see the owner, Deming with the same drive/passion he had when I met him 4 years ago. Constantly bringing ModSin cuisine into greater heights, The Quarters always comes to my mind for beautifully infusing and incorporating local flavours. This place, somehow, have the ability to create a seemingly simple dish but with an unexpected twist, in terms of both texture and flavour.

The Quarters is back with a brand new communal dining concept – The Quarter Grill that showcases heritage flavours and ingredients with a touch of modernity. Priced at S$60++ per pax, diners will get a great taste of modern Singapore through a six-course meal with mouth-watering dishes such as Fwah! – Foie Gras on Kaya Toast with Scrambled Eggs, and Ooh La La! – Signature Chilli Crab Sauce with Venus Clams and Croutons. On top of that, they have also brought back the popular Nasi Lemak Burger! Can’t wait to get your Quarters’ experience? To avoid disappointment, make your reservation (min. 2 pax) two days earlier as they are usually full for the evening!

Looks amazing right? You can have your The Quarter’s Experience too! Since it’s a communal concept, it’s best to invite more of your loved ones over for an amazing ModSin feast!

The Quarter’s Grill

Salted Egg Tebasaki
Chargrilled mid wing coated with The Quarter’s in-house Salted Egg Sauce.

Chincalok infused steamed egg with ikura?? As strange as it sounds, chincalok works really well in this comforting dish.

Ooh La La!
Everyone was raving about this dish and I probably know why. Chilli Crab sauce was LEGIT – flavoursome with a hint of spiciness. Secretly hoping there was a bowl of rice so I can soak them with the sauce!

Was looking forward to this dish (cos the last time I tried it, it was AMAZING) and glad it didn’t disappoint. Pan-seared Foie Gras was well-cooked – not too gamey and it goes so well with the Kaya Toast (kaya wasn’t too sweet and the toast was so fluffy) and melty scrambled eggs! So good!

Look at how beautiful the beef is! The wagyu cubes are soaked with flavoursome rendang sauce (leaves you wanting for more btw) and Buah Keluak Fried Rice is 😍

Ending the meal with The Quarter’s signature Durian Creme Brûlée which needs no explanation. If you’re not a durian lover, they have passionfruit – so don’t worry!

New A-la-Carte Items

Kueh Pie Ti
One of my FAV Nonya food and the rendition at The Quarters is pretty good.

Shiok Bak
This Sio Bak is LEGIT SHIOK SIA! The skin was so crispy, you can hear the crackling sound when you bite it in your mouth. Assam curry sauce was very addictive!

Wagyu Beef Buah Keluak Pasta
For the beef-lovers and Buah Keluak-lovers! Super good man!

Nasi Lemak Burger
This rendition from The Quarters is really shiok! A must-try!
