Listen up all coffee aficionados & avid cafe-hoppers! A new cafe – Elixir Boutique Roasters (taking over the premises of Sugarhaus previously) has just opened its door at Serene Centre! Other than their coffee (using single-origin beans and different roasting styles), the cafe also specialises in craft coffee-centric cocktails and mocktails. Sounds exciting isn’t it? And yes, count me in!

To further enhance the diners’ experience at the cafe, Elixir Boutique Roasters has also introduced a focused food menu that the guest can pair with their choice of drink. Think hearty and mouth-watering brunch dishes such as Brûlée French Toast, The Breakfast Works, Carbonara with Onsen Egg, Wagyu Beef Cheek Rendang and many more! Food was equally as impressive as their coffee!

So, looking for a place to satisfy both your coffee/brunch cravings? Get them sorted out at the new Elixir Boutique Roasters! Oh yes, you will definitely love the coffee scent in the cafe! So calming & therapeutic!

Psst! From now till 2 August 2019, they are running #ElixirForTips which allows you to enjoy their coffees and food for an amount you wish to pay!

I guess I’ll frequent this place a lot since they have all my favourites – (Coffee and Brunch classics)! Would recommend you to head over to the cafe earlier because the space isn’t very big (unless you want to sit at the alfresco area). I prefer the indoor space because the coffee aroma is so ☺️ (you know what I mean if you love coffee as much as I do)

If you do not know what to order, just ask the friendly barista to recommend a drink that suits your taste profile. There’s Single Origin (Guatamala & Columbian) as well as Blend (Brazil x Ethiopia) for you to choose from. Personally, I’ll go for something less acidic and more fruity, hence the Blend was my pick!

Black Smoke Rising // $12
I mean you can spice up your morning with a coffee cocktail! The Stormbringer has a nice smoky flavour with a hint of citrus (tasted like orange peel),. The dash of soda also makes the drink very refreshing. Perfect drink on a hot sunny afternoon!

Killer Queen // $13
I know it’s weird but this drink (especially after drinking it) tasted very similar to Pi Pao Gao. But I liked it. If you like drinks that has a medicinal profile, you will probably like this too!

Brûlée French Toast // $18
This was soooo good! French toast was soft and fluffy and I love the Brûlée (caramelised) layer. Cream was not overly sweet/jelat and it goes really well with the toast and seasonal fruits. Will definitely be back for this again!

Truffle Eggs Prosciutto // $22
Did you just say Truffle scrambled eggs? Yes 🙋🏻‍♂️ The scrambled eggs were not overwhelmed with truffle and they literally melts in the mouth. Best way to eat this is to add scrambled eggs and parma ham on the toast! Shiok lah!

Grilled Halloumi // $18
Not the best photo to show how delicious this dish is. Halloumi was well-seasoned and the greens went well with it!

Wagyu Beef Cheek Rendang // $22
This was my favourite dish at Elixir! And before I forget, the rice is FREE FLOW! It was aromatic (with a nice coconut flavour) and the Beef Cheek Rendang was to die for. It was flavourful and melts-in-your-mouth! Didn’t want to share this with anyone!

Carbonara with Onsen Egg // $18
Hard to go wrong with Carbonara and the rendition here was not too bad. But I would have loved it even more if it was creamier! I’m a hardcore carbonara fan and loves my carbonara to be very creamy!
